The AFX/GT Stormtrooper armor upgrade kit, side plate armor.

In stock and up on ebay now. (see photos below) DELUX version coming soon. This is the NEW and IMPROVED version AFX/GT Stormtrooper costume up grade kit. I made a set for my own use because NO one out there has offered this type of thing. I've done all the work that can be done on my end and collected all the materials for you and made it all easy to install. If you look at the members profiles at 501st.com you will see only a small % of troopers have no gaps in the side of their armor. A few are wearing trooper expert armor and even fewer have the gaps closed in while wearing AFX. The vast majority of AFX/GT users who are not skinny enough have this not so screen accurate gap in their sides that shows the black under suit. Be more screen accurate, care about your impression and impress the TK's in your garrison, don't be farby close those gaps! Go to page 34 of the Star Wars Visual Dictionary and compare my photos to the screen used armor and you will see how much it will do for your accuracy. See my before and after photos in the listing. Note the gap in the photo where I am firing my blaster at an elevated position before I added the up grade. Compare to photo of me with the gaps closed. As you can see from the photos the part of the side plate armor you see look flawless and blends in with the ABS of your AFX armor. This kit will close the gaps in the side of your AFX/GT armor and give it a GF/Trooper Expert armor vibe and increase the screen accuracy of your AFX/GT costume by up to 20% or more. This Kit includes two side plates, the soft side loop Velcro for your butt and ab plates, and also in addition foam for your forearms to keep them from sliding around on you, white vinyl to close the gaps in the back of your knees if you have them cut out for ease of movement and a code piece snap strap system for ease of connecting the butt plate to the cod piece. Note: The snaps are painted with two coats of subdued military style BBQ black paint. I use two snaps so they are double secure and will not come un done. ---- The plastic side armor is new and improved over my first kits I made as prototypes in that I use .060 gage for more flexibility and lighter weight. I am also expert at crafting them now and the velcro is placed on your kit better then the one I made for myself. I call the velcro job I do perfect now! The Side plates are also made of ABS plastic, the inside has a texture but it is not seen and should help reduce slipping of the ab plate to some extent but at the same time should not wear on your under armor unless your literally running a marathon. I had the plastic used for the kits hand selected for minimal scratches and it all looks really good. One size fits most. They will fit and work for you unless your gaps in your sides are greater then 16 inches combined! I'll be happy to offer all the tech support you might need to get it all installed via E-mail and I'll call you on the phone if need be. I have photos of all the mods at work in my TK armor to show you how it all fits together. You will need additional sewing on the cod snap strap onto your butt plate and the back knee vinyl. Also additional Velcro if you want to install the back knee vinyl. And the vinyl will need to be folded once and sewn so it does not un ravel. I'd do it here but don't have a sewing machine. The cod piece strap needs to be sewn onto your armor however it will also work with just looping it in too. Up to you. I stitched mine in because I set it to fit and did not want it to come loose and now there is never a need to readjust. 9/24/05 was the first time I trooped with the side plates and I can report no problems with them. The few serious TK's who wear this armor addition also report no problems. They are not cut by machines (Except the parts I order) and they do take a fair amount of time to craft. ( at least 3 or 4 hours) I do all the cutting, sanding button setting and heating plastic to form Etc. The set up you need to do is minimal. Side plates are only pictured (Out of Bag) installed into the AFX kit so my design is not stolen and reproduced by copy cats. There is no return on the kits they are sold as is however all parts and functions are guaranteed to work if something is not working I will do any additional cutting needed to make it work. For example making it smaller for smaller size people. Buyer pays shipping both ways. No additional costs for labor. The Kits do not alter your armor at all and can be taken off as if they were never added with a little effort. Each kit's side plate is marked with my TK operating number where it is not seen and very small. Disclaimer: As with all items I sell, insurance to cover loss, theft or damage is always a good idea but I leave this up to the buyer. TK2668 Special Mod At right are tab snap attachments for the shoulder bells included in the DELUX version. Also tabs for the shoulder bell rigging, only sold with the Supper DELUX version AFX up grade kit. NOTE: you will need additional sanpes from your local wal mart to set into your nylon webbing at your location. I can also provide tabs with cut outs for nylon that do not require snaps.
